I was watching the film 'Scum' with a young Ray Winston a few nights ago. Did I spy a young Danny John-Jules stood outside the boilerhouse?

I'm sure it was him!

It's only a fleeting glimpse. But it certainly looks like him!

The film is quite 'brutal', reflecting the 'short, sharp, shock' system of borstals that were used in Britain in the 70s', 80s'. Though there are light hearted moments as one of the characters, obviously intelligent, pursues his rights in a way that irritates the Warders and the strongly Christian Governor.

"I feel strongly drawn toward Mecca, Sir."

"Mecca!!"

The film is a classic, that reminds me of 'If...' in a strange sort of way. Have you seen 'If...' with a young Malcolm MacDowell?

It was a moody dark look he gave the other 'henchman' that made me notice him.

It was the look he would give Rimmer, when Rimmer was criticising 'Cat'.
